LSI Logic Storage Systems Dives into Shared Storage Pools with Sanbolic
Certification of combined solution brings high performing shared storage platform to customers.

MILPITAS, California - April 15, 2004 -- LSI Logic Storage Systems, Inc., a leader in delivering technology that enables high performance, highly scalable storage for the open enterprise, today announced that the Sanbolic Melio File System (FS) and LaScala Volume Manager software have achieved compatibility certification with the company’s SANtricity Storage Manager software and storage controllers. This certification enables end users to utilize LSI Logic Storage Systems' modular technology in building highly reliable and flexible storage pools for high performance computing environments.

Sanbolic's software solutions provide the capability to meet the requirements of high performance applications such as High Definition (HD) video and clustered file sharing environments requiring concurrent read and write access to files on a SAN. HD video requires extremely high throughput to each server connected to the shared storage system. Melio FS and LaScala enable applications to utilize multiple storage subsystems to deliver data in a shared infrastructure at rates not previously available. For example, an initial customer deployment has demonstrated concurrent read and write access in excess of 200 megabytes/second per node to a large shared volume.
