Sanbolic Announces Support for Microsoft Cluster Services
Clustered File System provides improved flexibility for server clusters

Watertown , MA June 12, 2006 – Sanbolic, Inc., a leading developer of software to simplify and share SAN storage, today announced support for Microsoft Clustering Services with its Melio Clustered File System and LaScala Volume Manager. Sanbolic's software is designed to enable shared access to data on a SAN, hence server clusters can be assigned concurrent shared access to a SAN volume, simplifying cluster configuration, and supporting application scalability for cluster aware applications.

“High availability clusters are important in datacenter applications. Our file system enables users to simplify their infrastructure and installation while improving reliability, uptime and hardware utilization, and still take full advantage of Microsoft Cluster Services,” said Momchil Michailov, a founder of Sanbolic. “Our products allow access to volumes on shared storage to be centrally assigned using Windows ACLs (Access Control Lists) and Active Directory. They provide concurrent access to shared data for running multiple instances of cluster aware applications while fully benefiting from the ability to use Microsoft Cluster Services across all machines in the cluster. Melio FS and LaScala also allow users to use shared infrastructure and Microsoft Cluster Services in the traditional two node approach in cases where the applications would not support more then one server accessing the data at any given time.”
