Speech Recognition Innovator Selects Sanbolic Software in Delivering Voice Services

Watertown, Massachusetts, August 12, 2003 – Sanbolic, developer of advanced software products and solutions to address the infrastructure needs of the storage area network (SAN/NAS) market, has announced that Eliza Corporation, a leader in computer speech recognition and natural language understanding, has implemented a Melio File System solution to support its business-critical SAN database operations.

Today, there are two basic data access models, file or data base services and block services. In a SAN computing environment, large centralized data stores are accessible directly by all attached computers across a high-speed fibre channel link. Without the added functionality of such software as Melio FS, SANs are just consolidated storage, and do not have the ability to share volumes. Melio FS is a file system that allows multiple servers in a SAN to share read and write operations to the same volume, at block level service. These solutions provide innovative ways to lower the total cost of storage ownership, while greatly enhancing the sharing functionality.

Melio FS is an innovative approach to improving the performance, reliability, and cost position of SAN technology. Melio FS enables the SAN to function as a single storage pool, eliminating the need for virtualization as required by most other SAN management software.
