Sanbolic Releases New High Availability Functionality for Melio File System
Application Affinity for Melio FS 2.0 adds Management Tools for Managing Shared SAN Storage in High Availability Microsoft Windows Data Center Environments

Watertown, MA., April 4, 2006– Sanbolic, Inc., a leading developer of software to simplify and share SAN storage, today announced the release of Application Affinity for its clustered file system Melio FS. Sanbolic’s Melio FS and LaScala volume manager allow active-active access to shared files on SAN storage, enabling multiple user access
to their critical data in high availability architectures. Application Affinity enables administrators to set priorities for each application server’s access to shared SAN storage in the event of server or network failure, and to detect the availability of the file system that contains critical data.

“In datacenter applications using Melio with affinity functionality, administrators can define the response to a hardware or network failure, and can centrally monitor file system availability and reconnect requests from clients,” says Momchil Michailov, cofounder of Sanbolic. “In working with our customers, this was one of the important scalability and business continuity features that we felt could be added in Microsoft Windows data center environments.”
