Sanbolic and InfoValue Announce Partnership
Sanbolic to optimize volume sharing for InfoValue's high-performance video-on-demand cluster solution.

Watertown, MA, March 12, 2001 - Sanbolic, Inc., a developer of Storage Area Network (SAN) software that provides volume sharing for enhanced intraSAN communication, announced today an engineering and business partnership with InfoValue Computing, Inc., a leading manufacturer of high-performance, integrated, video-streaming software. Kayo, Sanbolic's volume sharing software product, works seamlessly with InfoValue's streaming software to optimize the storage component of QuickVideo OnDemand (QVOD), InfoValue's high-end video-on-demand (VOD) solution. Through a program of joint testing and engineering efforts, InfoValue and Sanbolic have created a powerful and reliable solution for VOD.

InfoValue's QuickVideo Suite of streaming software is capable of streaming video-on-demand at 950 Mbps over an IP network from a single, off-the-shelf PC. InfoValue's high-performance, scalable solutions require equally high-performance SAN volume sharing in order to optimize video file storage for the demands of its software, particularly in clustered solutions, where several servers are aggregated and linked to the same SAN. To address this issue, Sanbolic's Kayo volume sharing software is installed on the servers in the SAN-- preventing data corruption of the files and allowing multiple VOD servers to simultaneously access the shared volumes on the same RAID storage. Kayo is transparent to the users and the shared volumes appear as local drives on each server connected to the storage.
